Leisure activities
Take a look below at the various activities proposed for Clay Cross Active.
Please note: All images and videos are for illustrative purposes only.
Swimming
Clay Cross Active will be home to a new 25m swimming pool with 6 lanes, plus a learner pool. We are currently looking at what water features and wet-play equipment will be included in the learner pool / play area.
The swimming pool has been designed with accessibility in mind, including new changing village with accessible changing areas.
The pool will also be able to be viewed clearly from the Cafe viewing area and spectator seating.
Fitness
A brand new 100 station gym will be installed with the latest cardiovascular and resistance equipment. A modern Spin studio will also be installed for motivating group cycle classes.
Please click on the images below to view our proposed new gym floor layout and equipment list.
Wellness suite
A brand new wellness suite will be installed with Innerva power-assisted equipment, which will be arranged in a 12-station circuit format. The wellness suite will be suitable for all fitness levels and is an ideal form of exercise for those who are less mobile, suffering from illness, or who are undergoing post-operative rehabilitation.
Innerva’s power-assisted equipment is designed to help improve the 5 elements of healthy aging which are aerobic fitness, muscular strength, balance, flexibility and social wellbeing.
Sports
Plans for Clay Cross Active include an indoor sports hall suitable for a range of sports sessions, including 4 badminton courts, plus a multi-purpose room for community activities.
Adventure play
A collection of soft play activities and play equipment will be installed to challenge children of varied ages and provide learning, development and social opportunities. We are currently exploring installing a pirate-themed soft play area on multiple levels – please see visual representations below.
Interactive play
We are looking to introduce TAGactive®, which is an interactive game based on encouraging physical activity through play and gamification. The game involves finding illuminated ‘tags’ which are hidden throughout the arena. Each player wears a wristband – when contact is made by the wristband to the tag, points are registered to the player.
TAGactive is suitable for all ages including children and adults, as the activity can be made as easy or as hard as you choose. The game promotes fitness, fun and competition for the family!
Food & beverage
We are looking to compliment the new leisure offering with a community Cafe that will provide a range of healthy food, drink and snacks. The new Cafe area will have a viewing gallery for the swimming pool and plenty of seating.
